Benefits of Rapid Release

Sep 1, 2014

I have been a chiropractor for 14 years, and have believed that addressing muscle tension is an important part of a chiropractic treatment since the beginning. Last month I added a new tool to help me achieve even greater results. Rapid Release Technology (RRT) is a high speed vibration therapy tool that oscillates at 170 Hz to relax muscle tension and break up scar tissue more effectively than I can with my hands.

How does RRT relax muscles? The frequency is optimized to induce the “Tonic Vibration Reflex” (TVR) that uncouples the guarding reflex of agonist and antagonist muscles. In other words, when you have tension in muscles on both sides of the joint, they are fighting against each other and vibrations of certain frequencies relax the cycle of spasm.

How does RRT reduce scar tissue? Scar tissue forms in the body as a patching mechanism for wounds caused by trauma, repetitive stress, or surgery. This scar tissue is made from collagen and quickly creates stability. Scar tissue fastened to tissues not normally connected is called an adhesion. Adhesions can cause pain, numbness or limit range of motion. RRT creates a resonance with the healthy tissues in the body while disrupting the fibers of adhesions.

NFL legend Terry Bradshaw has a great video clip about RRT on the Discovery channel show Health Briefs.
